2007 PEN eSchool - Back to Back with the Billy Graham School of Evangelism Dear PEN Evangelists: As you know in the past several years the PEN Exec Committee has moved toward a collaborative eSchool such as the one we did last year with NGA in Portland. We are excited to announce preliminary details or a school in collaboration with the BGEA (Billy Graham Evangelistic Associatoin) in the fall of 2007. This will be a chance not only for PEN members to attend one of the premier schools of evangelism in the nation but also a chance for us to spend an extra day together. If any of you have been to a BGEA School of Evangelism you know how helpful
they are. BGEA has been very willing and cooperative with us giving input
to the School and also giving us the opportunity to extend their school
for the PEN members by a day. We are not sure of all of the details quite
yet but we encourage you to mark off the time: Sincerely, Hundreds Drawn to NGA Innovative
Evangelism Conference The conference included: Moving times of worship and dynamic speakers including Luis Palau, bestselling author Donald Miller, Dare 2 Share founder Greg Stier, and youth evangelist Jose Zayas' Workshops addressing issues including balancing family with ministry, international opportunities with NGA, principles of fundraising, and many others. We also had working lunches and dinners with speakers who were both practical and inspiring including Mark Mittelberg and Joan Cook. Shane Ginn and Brad Buchanan traveled from Australia for the conference.
They came seeking insights for church planning and evangelism. "We
came here to get and take back as much information as possible."
Both work with youth for churches in Australia. Buchanan, who planted
a church, said, "We want to connect the church community with the
local community. I'm doing the groundwork of establishing relationships
so that when accomplished evangelists come, they're readily welcomed in
our area." Harvest Thiruvallur - NGA Evangelists head back to India Preparations for Harvest Thiruvallur began 20 years ago with the salvation of Muthu Mayandy at a crusade put on by Dr. Bill Thomas. Muthu and Dr. Bill Thomas have kept in touch and have been dreaming about teaming up in a big way to reach India. This past February, eleven evangelistic teams went to the district of Madurai in southern India: with still more people to reach, NGA, the Bill Thomas Evangelistic Association, Passion 4 People International and Muthu's New Life Ministries are working together to present Harvest Thiruvallur in February 2007. Bill Thomas, a partner evangelist with the Next Generation Alliance, will be conducting the main crusade in Tiruvallur February 15-18. This will be preceded by 11 satellite crusades with as many other NGA evangelists, February 8-13. The area has 4 million people, with many social, economic, and spiritual needs. Please be much in prayer for the evangelists and their teams, that God will give them safe travel, and great blessings in ministry. NGA will be helping to coordinate 11 evangelistic teams as they reach out to the people in the district of Thiruvallur through service projects, trips to schools and orphanages, and special affinity events for pastors, women and youth. Please pray for these teams as they make their preparations, and pray for the people of India - that their hearts would be open when the teams head there in February. Pray for the following evangelists and their team members as they travel
abroad and minister in India: Andrew Palau - Palau Association; Andrew
Friesen - World Gospel Explosion; Bill Thomas - Bill Thomas Evangelistic
Assoc.; Brad Butcher - Passion 4 People; Christian Holst - Drenched Ministries/Passion

would like to congratulate Rev. Keith Cook for his election as President

NGA Evangelist and serves on the PEN Executive Committee. Burundi's President calls people to Repent an Seek God I have just come here from Burundi after a successful preaching opportunity. The President of Burundi, a devout Christian, organized a massive festival at the national stadium to give thanks for 13 years of peace in his land. He invited me and three other speakers to address his nation. What a powerful time we had! More than 30,000 people gathered each day to celebrate with singing, dancing and listening to the preaching of God's Word. On the day that I preached more than 500 came forward to receive Christ. Several thousands also gave their lives when the other speakers issued a call to follow Christ. In all, it was glorious to see a nation bow their knees before God and seek his face. Leading them at the forefront was the President and his wife. The President and a choir made up of soldiers, cabinet and parliament members led in worship each day, his 3 year old son, also joined him on one occasion. It was a sight to behold, the President and his tiny tot singing praises to God. I observed the audience, young boys and girls, soldiers, police men, they were smiling ear to ear with great joy and dancing along with the President. They had never seen such a sight, the President ministering to them. What a sight to behold the President of a nation in Africa leading their people in worship of God! Hallelujah!! On the final day he knelt on the platform and led his people in prayer, it was a prayer of confession and thanksgiving. (Courtesy: Wesley Paul, Wesley Paul International Ministries. We have just returned from Sydney this past week. We were called in to
serve the New South Wales Tamil Church. God answered your prayer for our
preparation to speak on the topic, "Sri Lankan Culture & Biblical
Values." I led six sessions with college and working young adults
while Dileeni spoke to the women and helped with the children. People of Persuasion: Evangelism and the Pentecostal/Charismatic Revival Only the coming of the power of the Holy Spirit to those who are witnesses for Christ makes the work of evangelism possible. Evangelism has been the first priority from the very outset of the modern pentecostal/Charismatic movement. The historical self-image in the "Pentecostal/Charismatic story" is that we were raised up by God to be an instrument of revival and evangelism in the world. Need Ideas for Reaching Seekers
and Skeptics? Here's a short outreach article from Rusty Wright's website. It illustrates how you can tap secular news to tactfully communicate Christ: A Little "Kramer" in All of Us? Comedian Michael Richards -
"Kramer" on TV's Seinfeld - saw his racist tirade at African-American
hecklers ignite a firestorm. Lots of people have dark sides. Maybe everyone.
Maybe you. I do. (Courtesy: Rusty Wright, For more information, visit www.probe.org/Rusty
