There is a new anticipation building as the Church continues to unite, to pray, and plan on how to continue to share God's love with the over 160 nations living in our midst and to the nations of their origin. There is a significant multi-ethnic missionary movement developing in the city. The Melbourne Conference on Ethnic Evangelism will host a one-day preliminary Conference on Oct 4th and a two-day Conference on March 6-7, 2009. (Courtesy Kumar Abraham, Help For Christian Nationals. The Lord overruled the weather forecast and gave us a beautiful, almost cloudless afternoon in the low 70's. Many people were out in the park, and many hundreds stopped to listen during different parts of the event. Evangelist Christ White spoke twice, with more than a dozen
people receiving the Lord on the spot, some both ready and broken. Many
others stopped by the book, Bible, and prayer table to talk or to ask
for prayer. With a few dozen helpers in yellow Arise New York t-shirts,
there were conversations about the Lord all over the plaza all afternoon.

Our nation is in a critical time. Covers of Love Romania captured Steve Wingfield's heart 19 years ago. He preached for three weeks under the reign of one of the most oppressive communist regimes. After the fall of communism in 1989, Steve had the privilege of preaching in the first public evangelistic service. Through the many years of SWEA's presence, they have established a visible presence in Romania. They have held over 25 festivals in various cities, helped plant 35 churches, start two orphanages, a dairy farm, translated and printed Bible study and follow-up material for new converts and distributed over 90,000 Romanian Bibles. Their latest effort of support is 'Covers of Love', originating from the SWEA Canadian office. It is a new ministry of providing love and warmth to orphans in Romania. Currently, they have 20 large bags packed with sweaters, mittens, toys, purses, over 300 handmade blankets and 200 ball caps. Also included in the shipment will be 'Blessing Bags', bags put together especially for girls in the orphanages. The first shipment to Romania will be taken by a SWEA representative in May. Please pray this act of love will open hearts for the gospel. (Courtesy Jessica Taylor, SWEA. For more information, visit Steve Wingfield Evangelistic Association or email Jessica).
