JOURNEY TO CHRIST
This past January, thirty-six InterVarsity students
gathered for The Journey
and were challenged to surrender their lives to Jesus
and commit to sharing Christ's forgiveness and leadership with
their friends. Speakers throughout the weekend talked about the
person of Jesus, the importance of setting aside time every day
for prayer and Bible study, and the command to share our Christian
faith with our friends.
Students also participated in workshops throughout The Great Adventure
track, designed to help them share Jesus with their friends. Workshop
leaders discussed relationships, time management, growing closer
to Jesus, healing, and forgiveness. Many students re-committed
their lives to Christ.
Eight students from Skidmore and Union colleges in New York attended
and participated in various tracks, including Bible Study, Discipleship,
and the Book of Genesis. When Danielle returned to campus and
got a chance to talk with the Skidmore and Union students about
what God had shown them throughout the weekend, all of them expressed
a desire to see their non-Christian friends come to know Jesus.
They want to be actively used by God to draw their friends into
relationship with Him.
In his letter to the Philippians in the Bible, Paul writes that,
"at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and
on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus
Christ is Lord." (Philippians 2:10-11, NIV). Through conferences
like The Journey, InterVarsity seeks to train and equip students
with the tools they need to proclaim the Gospel of Christ and
bring others into the Kingdom of God. These students respond to
the Lordship of Christ by going out and asking others to consider
the reality of the statement, "Jesus is Lord," and challenge
them by asking "What are you going to do about it?"

RUSSIA MISSION REPORTS
Uslavya, Russia, Dec '03 - In a country
where only a few years ago the prospect would have been preposterous,
small churches are popping up and filling to the brim. Additionally,
church leaders are meeting regularly for support and teaching,
as they learn new and effective ways to serve God. The excitement
among these pastors is tremendous. In Tula, Wesley reports, one
pastor has seen his congregation grow from 15 to 96 members as
the result of God's work through intentional evangelism strategies.
In another of Wesley's many stops through Russia, three teenagers
came to accept Christ.

IMPACT WORLD TOUR (IWT) IN NEW ZEALAND
Gisbourne, New Zealand, Jan '04
- Organizers report that the Proclamation phase of IWT's New
Zealand campaign is in full swing, and exciting things are happening
on the island. Indeed, early estimates are that approximately
1,500 people have come to Christ across the nation in connection
with IWT's ministry BEFORE the campaign's Proclamation
phase was even begun. Leaders involved in the program have remarked
that they believe IWT campaign preparation has been used as a
catalyst by the Lord to help build deeper unity in the Body of
Christ.
In the Gisbourne City Campaign, the lead city for the proclamation
effort, Mark Anderson offered an altar call, accepted by many,
with several campaign nights in Awapuni Stadium yet to come.

BGEA MINISTRIES: PROCLAIMING 'HOPE' IN RUSSIA
The Former Soviet Union, Nov/Dec '04
- For more than 50 years, the BGEA has been single-minded in telling
millions of people the incredible Good News of salvation through
faith in Jesus Christ. Last year, more than
515,000 people made commitments to Jesus Christ
through ministries of the BGEA. Today, the BGEA aggressively brings
the Gospel to cities and nations through crusades, television
and radio broadcasts, web sites, Decision magazine, and other
innovative evangelistic efforts.
Recently, in the former Soviet Union, the BGEA put all of these
tools to work in the powerful evangelistic campaign, My Hope.
More than 100 TV stations, 16 regional and
national radio outlets, and 44,298
homes participated throughout the country, and over 100,000
people responded with decisions to accept Christ. One TV broadcast
of the BGEA aired for two consecutive nights in Moscow-a city
of ten million people!
The campaign has empowered many Christians as leaders and has
helped facilitate many faith-sharing encounters. Said one group
leader, "Through My Hope, I was able
to help my friends understand why I have changed my life and that
life in Jesus is better."
Future campaigns involving Billy Graham are now scheduled in
Kansas City (June 17-20), Los Angeles (July 29-Aug. 1), and New
York (early 2005). Keep these upcoming events in mind, and support
them by your prayers.
