Arise New
York
The Arise New York concert and evangelistic outreach
went very well on Sunday, May 4th at the Naumberg Bandshell in
Central Park, Manhattan. The Lord overruled the weather forecast
and gave us a beautiful, almost cloudless afternoon in the low
70's. Many people were out in the park, and many hundreds stopped
to listen during different parts of the event.
Evangelist Christ White spoke twice, with more than
a dozen people receiving the Lord on the spot, some both ready
and broken. Many others stopped by the book, Bible, and prayer
table to talk or to ask for prayer. With a few dozen helpers in
yellow Arise New York t-shirts, there were conversations about
the Lord all over the plaza all afternoon.
For more info and pictures, please visit our website.
Evangelist Chris White be will be back at the Naumberg Bandshell
on Sept. 7.

Covers of Love
Romania captured Steve Wingfield's heart 19 years ago. He preached
for three weeks under the reign of one of the most oppressive
communist regimes. After the fall of communism in 1989, Steve
had the privilege of preaching in the first public evangelistic
service.
Through the many years of SWEA's presence, they have established
a visible presence in Romania. They have held over 25 festivals
in various cities, helped plant 35 churches, start two orphanages,
a dairy farm, translated and printed Bible study and follow-up
material for new converts and distributed over 90,000 Romanian
Bibles.
Their latest effort of support is 'Covers of Love', originating
from the SWEA Canadian office. It is a new ministry of providing
love and warmth to orphans in Romania. Currently, they have 20
large bags packed with sweaters, mittens, toys, purses, over 300
handmade blankets and 200 ball caps. Also included in the shipment
will be 'Blessing Bags', bags put together especially for girls
in the orphanages. The first shipment to Romania will be taken
by a SWEA representative in May. Please pray this act of love
will open hearts for the gospel.

Cityreachers Renew Their Passion
for City Transformation
More than 180 Christian leaders from across the nation came together
near Boston this month for the Tenth Anniversary National City
Impact Roundtable-"Mobilizing a Diverse Church for City Transformation."
Urban ministry veteran Ray Bakke gave the plenary addresses. In
one session, he noted that for too long the attitude among evangelicals
has been, "Just get 'em saved. For effective urban missions
we need to have a bigger picture of the systems that create wealth
and poverty in our cities, he said. The gospel is received more
readily when real and felt needs are being addressed by those
who also proclaim the good news."
The event was endorsed by the Mission America Coalition City
and Community Ministries division. Mission America is the U.S.
Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization.

the upcoming PEN Newsletter, we have set Wednesday, July 16

run as many articles as possible, but we can not guarantee that
your article will be included in the upcoming PEN

Below you will find a list of qualifications for data that will
be included in the PEN Newsletter.

in our upcoming events section of each newsletter.
3) All other information will be included only upon a space availability
basis. We will rank importance according to PEN guidelines.
4) All correspondence must be done through emails. Please try
not to call our office or fax your articles to us, as it will
be more time consuming to retype information in for each of the
