A word from the PEN Executive
Committee:
Dear PEN Colleagues:
I pray that this edition of the PEN newsletter finds you more
in love with the Savior and as much or more committed to seeing
the whole world hear the 'Good News'.
As you read, I believe you will be encouraged by the reports of
what we are seeing God do across the nations. We know there are
many stories that are yet to be told. Make sure you take special
note of the upcoming Innovative Evangelism Conference. This
event is held by NGA and is co-sponsored by PEN and is our 2006
eSchool.
I am reminded of a recent conversation with a man in ministry.
He was tired, and more than a little discouraged. The more we
talked the more evident it became that he had been so busy working
for the Kingdom that he had forgotten the King. We need to be
constantly on guard against this. If we do not constantly feed
the flame of our passion for Christ it will quickly begin to flicker
and diminish. Passion is one thing that has to be nurtured constantly!
Blessings as you serve.
Dallas Anderson
Director of Proclamation Ministries Billy Graham Center
2006 PEN eSchool - Innovative
Evangelism Conference - Don't Forget to Register
There's still time to register for the Innovative
Evangelism Conference being hosted by Luis Palau's Next Generation
Alliance this coming October 24-27 in Portland, Oregon.
Dozens of workshops will focus on the unique and critical needs
of outreach ministries, from finances to management, event planning
to marketing.
Presenters include seasoned evangelists (Luis Palau, Mike Silva,
Jose Zayas), authors and speakers (Pat Palau, Mark Mittelberg,
Donald Miller, Joan Cook) youth-centered ministries (Stephen Baldwin,
Jay Haizlip, Greg Stier) and creators of cutting-edge outreach
tools (Kevin Palau, Billy Zabka). There will be numerous opportunities
for fellowship, mentoring and worship throughout the week, including
numerous sessions with Luis Palau and other evangelists who are
using innovative, contemporary methods to reach the lost around
the world.
The cost of the entire conference is $214. There are reduced
costs for groups
(3 or more) and spouses. The registration fee includes three (3)
dinners, three (3) lunches, notebook, and evangelism tool kit.
Special lodging rates have also been arranged but are not included
in the registration fee. Some scholarships are still available.

Institute for Emerging
Evangelists (IEIE)
A strategic collaborative partnership has been forged among seven
evangelistic ministries committed to the training of evangelists
internationally. John Adams of East West Ministries will serve
as coordinator of both new groups:
The Spain Partnership: Tim Robnett, Next Generation Alliance
and Luis Palau Evangelistic Assoc.; Sammy Tippet, Sammy Tippet
Evangelistic Association; Keith Cook, On the Go Ministries and
Keith Cook Evangelistic Association; John Adams, East West Ministries.
The Kazakhstan Partnership: Larry Moyer, Evantel; Steve
Wingfield, Steve Wingfield Evangelistic Association; Ron O'Guinn,
Allofus Ministries; John Adams, East West Ministries.
Together, these vibrant ministries will sponsor the 2007-2008
Institutes for Emerging Itinerant Evangelists (IEIE).
The IEIE supports evangelists in their quest for effective
methods, a deepened Christian worldview, and the Spirit-empowered
life. Running these two new IEIE's concurrently doubles
our pace in this critical ministry.
The strategic collaboration signifies a long-term commitment
to the mentoring of evangelists from parts of the world where
the Christian population is less than 0.5% of each country's population.
The Spain IEIE will draw evangelists from the neighboring
countries of Portugal, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco. The Central
Asia IEIE will be held in Kazakhstan and will draw students
from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.
In some of these countries there is ongoing persecution of believers
and the local church. In Turkmenistan there is no Western evangelical
presence that we know of right now. The long-term vision of the
IEIE is to take this Institute into any area of the world
to which we are invited.
All the partners would like to thank the leadership of PEN (Proclamation
Evangelism Network) for its support and help. The PEN leadership
team is intimately involved in this ministry.

Harvest Thiruvallur - NGA Evangelists
head back to India
Preparations for Harvest Thiruvallur began 20 years ago with
the salvation of Muthu Mayandy at a crusade put on by Dr. Bill
Thomas. Muthu and Dr. Bill Thomas have kept in touch and have
been dreaming about teaming up in a big way to reach India. This
past February, eleven evangelistic teams went to the district
of Madurai in southern India: with still more people to reach,
NGA, the Bill Thomas Evangelistic Association, Passion 4 People
International and Muthu's New Life Ministries are working together
to present Harvest Thiruvallur in February 2007.
NGA will be helping to coordinate 11 evangelistic teams as they
reach out to the people in the district of Thiruvallur through
service projects, trips to schools and orphanages, and special
affinity events for pastors, women and youth. Please pray for
these teams as they make their preparations, and pray for the
people of India - that their hearts would be open when the teams
head there in February.

For His Glory Evangelistic Ministries
- Reports from India
Rob Welch, Evangelist in Residence at the Billy Graham Center
arrived recently from Peraiyur, India. During the eight days of
festivals, large numbers of people responded to the Gospel each
night, and the churches in Peraiyur received decision cards for
400 people who made commitments for Christ. They have begun following
up with these new believers. Pastor Jeyakumar, the pastor who
organized the Peraiyur festival, attended the second night of
the Vandiyur festival, and shared with those in attendance that
over 400 people received Jesus as their Savior and Lord and that
the Lord worked many miracles, healing many who came forward for
healing prayer. The Lord did many wonderful things!
Vandiyur, the town where the second festival was held is almost
100% Hindu and has about 100,000 people who live there without
one Christian church. Pastor Raj, Rob Welch's contact had started
holding prayer meetings in Vandiyur and will be planting a new
church there with the new believers who made decisions for Christ
during the festivals. In addition to the festivals, the Gospel
was preached at the Church of South India Conference (the CSI
is the Anglican Church in India) in schools, churches, at a leper
colony, at the hotel and several hundreds more responded to Christ
in those different locations. For more info, please visit the
website.

The Audio Evangelist
A few years ago, I saw the need to rethink evangelism. I was
invited to speak in-between bands at a youth outreach, and as
I was introduced, I began to see teens funneling out of the concert
venue
Here I was about to preach the Gospel, and the young
teens were leaving! I left that day determined more than ever
to find a solution to this common outreach dilemma.
Godly dreams and visions always answer a need. The Audio Evangelist
is the answer to the need I saw that afternoon. I asked God to
show me how to present the Gospel and keep their attention. I
begged God to give me a creative method to harness the power of
a concert and leverage that power for the sake of the Gospel.
The Audio Evangelist is a full sensory experience of music, visuals,
and profound spoken word. God will work on your behalf and guide
your every step.

Operation Starting Line
Since its launch on Easter Sunday 2000, Operation Starting Line
has reached more than 698,000 inmates at 883 correctional facilities
through 3,153 events in 25 states have participated in Operation
Starting Line. Over 96,000 prisoners have either made first time
decisions to accept Christ, made re-commitments to Christ or signed
up for Bible based
correspondence studies. The Operation Starting Line collaboration
has grown to thirty-three organizations working together to evangelize
and disciple prisoners, correctional officers and their families.
This was evident during the August, 2006 statewide campaign in
Ohio when over 12,500 prisoners and correctional officers in 42
facilities heard the message of Jesus Christ. During the campaign
Mission America, Billy Graham Center, The Navigators, International
Bible Society, Prison Fellowship, Wings Ministry, Seeds Faith
Ministry, Uncaged Outreach
Ministry, Evantell, Crossroad Bible Institute, Child Evangelism
Fellowship, Library of Hope, Campus Crusade and Maximum Security
Ministry came together and provided representatives, materials
and the message of Jesus Christ behind the walls.

Luis Palau and Chinese Official Release Co-authored Book in Beijing
Amidst fanfare seldom seen in China, evangelist Luis Palau and
Mr. Zhao Qizheng released their highly anticipated, co-authored
book Riverside Talks: A Friendly Dialogue between an Atheist and
a Christian. The book's release took place during a packed press
conference at the Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF). The
media event was cut short when the enthusiastic crowd of assembled
journalists, photographers and TV crews rushed forward to interview
the authors and get autographed copies of the historic book.
"This is the first time in the history of China that an
international religious leader has been permitted to sign copies
of his book in a large public secular venue," said Shen Weiping,
vice president of the China Association for International Friendly
Contact (CAIFC). For the fourth time in two years, the CAIFC hosted
Palau at a state dinner held at the Diayutai Government House,
considered the "Camp David of China."

SWEA's Festival Update
During the Labor Day weekend, SWEA conducted BeachFest as a gift
to the people of the Long Beach, Mississippi area. During the
three days, 234 people made decisions for Christ. Steve's involvement
with The Valley Responds inspired him to conduct an outreach of
hope in the still devastated Gulf Coast town. Randy Travis, Jars
of Clay, Ricky Skaggs and Nicole C. Mullen headlined the festival.
Psalty performed on Saturday morning and host of events for the
youth filled the afternoon hours. As part of the outreach, more
than $9000 was raised for the local senior recreation center.

The Valley Responds Continues
Relief Efforts
Steve Wingfield continues to serve as the Chairman of The Valley
Responds, a local (Harrisonburg - Rockingham County, Virginia)
organization formed to assist the adopted community of Long Beach,
Mississippi to recover from the devastating effects of Hurricane
Katrina. Under Steve's leadership, the long term relief effort
has received well over $200,000 in cash donations and has, in
turn, distributed funds to a variety of organizations and agencies
in the affected area.
Steve helped negotiate the donation of modular homes to the stricken
community. In addition, "in-kind" donations of other
items such as vehicles, building materials, toys, school supplies,
carpet, kitchen and homemaking essentials, large quantities of
food, and much more have been made. Hundreds of volunteers from
the Harrisonburg area have made the trip to Long Beach to make
a physical difference in the rebuilding initiative. In addition,
a local aviation company has donated thousands of miles of flights
to the cause. The SWEA tent was set up in Long Beach from September
to May to serve as a gymnasium, mess hall, and more as needed.

Need Ideas
for Reaching Seekers and Skeptics?
Here's a short evangelistic article from Rusty Wright's website.
It illustrates how you can tap current interest to tactfully communicate
Christ:
9/11 and You. My sister had a 9:00 a.m. appointment at
the World Trade Center. On September 12. How do you process your
memories and feelings now, as reminders of the attacks come in
anniversary commemorations and the media? Nearly two-thirds of
American Red Cross 9/11 adult counselees are still grieving. Some
personal reflections and practical lessons. To see the article
in it's entirety, visit this link.

Revival Among
Cadets
Operation Freedom reports there has been a outbreak of revival
at the U.S. Army Cadet Command's Leader's Training Course 2006
this summer at the U.S. Army's Leader's Training Course (LTC).
The LTC was attended by 1,253 ROTC Cadets from universities across
America, and approximately 37 university students received Jesus
Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. The LTC is held annually
at Fort Knox, Kentucky, home of the Eastern Region HQ of the U.S.
Army Cadet Command. Dr. James F. Linzey, President of Operation
Freedom, served as pastor for the students and was the first chaplain
to be hired full time for this mission. Dr. Linzey conducted 39
worship services in two months. The Cadets were hungry for the
Word of God and requested additional services. Chaplain Linzey
recruited additional pastoral support and lay support among the
students for 14 additional worship services. Reflecting a surge
in evangelicalism among university students, official military
religious demographics showed among LTC ROTC Cadets this year:
51% evangelical Christians, 15% liturgical Protestants, 26% Roman
Catholic, and 8% other traditions. The Army proactively supports
freedom of religion.

Answered Prayer:
School of Discipleship
The School of Discipleship in Kenya, which was started in 2003
by the Bob Boyd Evangelistic Association, has seen tremendous
answers to prayer this summer. During the month of August, when
many of the adolescents undergo the circumcision rituals, we saw
15,000 children (out of a total of 20,000) choose not to participate
in the rituals and/or have the circumcision performed at a hospital.
This is a great victory over the enemy and a triumph over the
spread of AIDS.
Evangelistic Opportunity
The Bob Boyd Evangelistic Association is looking for a full-time
Executive Director - will travel the world, be paid an excellent
salary, and help reach hundreds of thousands for Christ.
